But I think no "term" can describe this "PGP for some e-mail" (= only between Proton users and people using PGP) situation to "everyone and their grandmother"... it's too complicated for most people to comprehend.

In any case, it's still a lot better than no encryption at rest at all, as with most e-mail providers :-)

It's setup automagically when you create a Proton account, users don't have to do anything for it, which is nice. In settings, you can download the PGP keys. See the screenshots.

By the way, the Proton "UX" is far superior than Mailbox.org - which i personally find hard to navigate / disorganized.

In terms of bad OSS project names, I feel like one of the worst is RawTherapee's fork, called Another RawTherapee, or "ART". No search engine can find it, because search ignores capitalization and it just thinks you're searching for art (as a common English noun). So when you look up "how to do x in ART" it thinks you're searching for regular art tutorials, and when you look up "how to do x in Another RawTherapee", it answers with the non-fork version of Rawtherapee because indexing rules make that come up first, but the UI in the non-fork version is totally different because that's the entire point of the fork, so the tutorial does not apply. In any case, this naming scheme is bound to give you a good headache when you need to look up anything.

I feel like Firefox should give uses a toggle whether they want the rounded aesthetic! Personally, I like it a lot, and it just so happened when I switched from boxy KDE Plasma to Niri + Noctalia (which has more rounded UI as configured with default settings), Firefox updated to the new rounded aesthetic at the same time! What are the odds? A lot of people love their boxier UI bits though, so it kind of sucks that disabling the new UI requires going into about:config
