A good laptop if you like touch screen and small laptops. The problem I have with Freamework is the stupid way they save all costumers personal data for no reason.

I am not a fan of the plastic really, would prefer metal with plastic case that you can replace. But 900€ nowadays is pretty good I guess.

For me it just has too few ports. Their port system is kinda useless, just add more of them! My Chromebook has basically the same amount of them...

Also coreboot support would be huge, instead of giving laptops to fascists

And I think that is a good thing, just like on Android. Governments can force you to unlock things with biometrics but can't force you to tell secrets.

But the screen locker (which kinda looks the same but is a completely different thing), and polkit (run0, kio-admin, partitionmanager etc), sudo and more things all use your fingerprint preferrably and fall back to password if not recognized.

My current laptop (also a 2-in-1 convertible) should last several more years, and I'd rather not replace it given the current market. Also, my laptop has an OLED, so going to a Framework 12 would be a huge display downgrade. Every other spec would be equal or better on the new 12: 2x TB4, increased battery life (my current device is using a hot 13th gen Intel processor), equalish performance, build quality (mine is a metal build but it's showing its age), the COLOURS, fingerprint reader, the smaller size, and of course the REPAIRABILITY!

The cat is super cute 😄
The new laptop is so neat, great battery life, decent performance, fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, amazing build quality, and especially the COLOURS too! I really want the lavender one... Shame it had to release when RAM and storage prices are so high, but at least it's available for people with the older model to upgrade the keyboard, fingerprint reader, etc. The amazing repairability is also something that you don't see often, and if I ever need to replace my laptop in the future, it'll definitely be a Framework (or another equally repairable option, should one exist)
